I replaced the pads on the front brakes about two weeks ago. The old pads still had some life but I was tired of hearing the squealing at every stop. Guess what...The new pads do the same thing! This seems to happen right when the brakes are first applied. The harder you pull, the less of a squeal you hear. At first I thought it might just be new pads or brake dust. Doesn't appear to be either. I read in an earlier post that with the back brake applying some sort of backing to the brake can prevent the dreaded squeal. My question...did anyone else have the same problem and did you apply any type of backing to the the back of the pads?
